Article 371J: Special provision with respect to the State of Karnataka
(1) The President may, by order made with respect to the State of Karnataka, provide for any special responsibility of the Governor for—
- (a) establishment of a separate development board for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region with the provision that a report on the working of the board will be placed each year before the State Legislative Assembly;
- (b) equitable allocation of funds for developmental expenditure over the said region, subject to the requirements of the State as a whole; and
- (c) equitable arrangement providing adequate facilities for technical education and vocational training, and adequate employment opportunities in the State services in respect of the said region.
(2) An order made under clause (1) may provide for any special responsibility of the Governor to ensure—
- (a) equitable allocation of funds for developmental expenditure over the said region;
- (b) equitable arrangement providing adequate facilities for technical education and vocational training, and adequate employment opportunities in the State services in respect of the said region.
(3) The Governor shall have special responsibility for ensuring that the provisions of clause (1) are followed.
(4) The provisions of this article shall have effect notwithstanding anything in any other provision of this Constitution or in any other law for the time being in force.
