Pong dam, a reservoir has been constructed on the river Beas in the wet land of Shivalik hills of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, which has been named as Maharana Pratap Sagar.

This dam was built in 1975 named in honour of Maharana Pratap. This reservoir or lake is a famous wildlife sanctuary and one of the international wetland sites declared by Ramsar Convention.

Bhakra Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Sutlej River in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The dam forms the Gobind Sagar reservoir.

Both, the Beas and the Sutlej, belong to the Indus river system.
