• The 21st century trade issues in the WTO (The World Trade Organization) are the ones that are newly brought, especially by the developed countries to scale up trade liberalization. Throughout the history of the WTO, the developed world tried to broaden the trade agenda. According to them, the 21st century issues are suitable to the 21st century trade engagements.

• The main 21st century issues are e-commerce, disciplines for the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), investment facilitation, gender development and domestic regulation. Often, the 21st century issues are also known as “new issues”.
