• The Western Cyclonic Disturbances, which enter the Indian sub-continent from the west and the north-west during the winter months originate over the Mediterranean Sea and are brought into India by the Westerly Jet Streams. An increase in the prevailing night temperature generally indicates an advance in the arrival of these cyclonic disturbances.
